Shea Butter Baby

Black Love Series | Part 1

Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

There is something very dreamy about black love. From the everlasting cocoa cravings, to the beauty in our afrocentric features. Black love is like poetry in stillness. Black love is beautiful!

I started this series to project that beauty through my love for imagery. I’m going to bring something different to the table each episode. I hope you will enjoy this series as much as I loved creating it.

Here is the first episode featuring Rubie and Charles.

“If I were to write you a poem I would start by admitting that I have an addiction and it’s you.

The way the chocolate melts in my mouth, pleasuring every part of my body and mind is the same way your words melt me softly.

The same way the sun beautifully hugs my shea buttered skin and feeds me a feeling close to ecstasy is the same way your touch makes me feel lovely.

If I were to write you a poem, I would start by admitting that I am the luckiest person in the world. I could never get tired of your kisses, as sweet as brown sugar. The way you wear your beautiful melanin, inspiring me to accept me for who I am and to love me for who I am.

The way your walk and your talk reveals who you choose to be proudly, inspiring me to step into my light fearlessly. Our love story is like a cure to me. The world may crumble, life may get tough but, our beautiful black love will always win.”
