HELLO, I'M ANNITA


My name is Annita, I am the lead photographer at Annita Kayiba Photography. Also known as the queen of angles (when you book your session with me, don't be surprised if I position myself in the weirdest ways. I am just trying to capture the perfect shots). I am an ambivert who loves history (if I had superpowers, I would be invisible and travel back in time). I enjoy old soul music and some good RnB (who knows we might be sharing playlists). I am a homebody. There is literally no place like home! If I am not home, I am out with friends at a restaurant probably ordering calamari as my appetizer and some kind of pasta as my dinner with a red sangria. I also enjoy travelling. Whether it is going to different countries or even just hoping on a random bus in my city to end up in a random place just to discover different sceneries (so if you are struggling with finding a location for your photoshoot, I'm your girl!).


I am of Congolese decent but, I was born and raised in Belgium hence why I speak dutch (yes that language that sounds like German). I am fluent in French, English and Dutch so goeiedag and bonjour to you mon ami(e). In 2009, I moved to Canada and have been living here ever since.

I have been passionate about photography since the age of 10 I would say. My dad is the one who inspired me. He enjoyed taking pictures/videos with his old Sony camera even before my siblings and I were born. He would record absolutely everything and eventually, my mom got tired of having the camera in her face 24/7 (she was really annoyed lol). Nevertheless, the memories that my family and I have now are endless. It's so beautiful to just look at all these beautiful images and videos captured by my father.

That is my goal with photography. It is to create endless memories that you will be able to cherish forever and pass on from one generation to another. It is for you to look back at the pictures 20+ plus years from now and remember the feelings, the laughs and the conversations. It is to connect and meet new people (maybe that could be you?) and create long-lasting relationships.
