Femmes Noires
Black Women in Suits | Flashmob
Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
When the founder of Femmes Noires, Natasha Kunashe, contacted me about the event that's she wanted to organize, I couldn't be more existed about it. A project involving melanin magic from the city of Ottawa in suits? Count me in. Being surrounded by all that black beauty that day and capturing all the beautiful women made me feel very empowered. It made me proud to be a black women. I am blessed!
“Imagine bringing all these voices together & creating a platform where black women’s voices are amplified! This is what we’re about.”
⇢ Natasha Kayce, Founder of Femmes Noires
“First things first, back women are elite!
For a huge part of my life I always felt like us black women we were so disconnected. At times I felt this spirit of competition in the air amongst us black women & I hated it. I hated it because I always knew how powerful we would be if we loved, supported & showed up for one another. If we stopped competing & pushed each other instead. I know so many amazing, beautiful, talented & powerful black women with stories & gifts that can change the world. The world deserves to see these women, hear their stories, see their gifts on display & so much more.
Us black women deserve this too. The chance & the space to just be."
